Elizabeth. Your not so typical blue-eyed, ice-glaring, feminine past time's - detesting lady, the only daughter of the Duke of Yardwell. Which makes her the Heiress of the largest and richest estate in the Kingdom of Demonire.
And the twist - Demonire is the only estate where even daughters of the Duke can inherit its bountiful lands.

But a season, and a not-so-loved King of Demonire poses a problem in her plan to remain unmarried till she comes of age and inherit her lands - she's been asked to go to Warnia and participate in the parade, normally called a season of the Crown Prince Thomas.

There would be a lot of fashion, lot of dancing, and an incredible amount of female objectification.

Elizabeth has a plan. A permanent solution to her problem of social engagement and the expectation of her marriage.

But Warnia is a warzone. A kingdom dreaded by the entire Continent. For reasons unknown. There are whispers, warnings, myths and tales of the mighty kingdom, but no one knows about its true dangers.

Danger Elizabeth is walking straight through. Amidst politics, dancing and husband hunting, she has to survive, and leave the sun-kissed country unmarried but not a maiden.

Will she survive? Or will she succumb to the pressures of Warnian court politics, and play right into their plans?

A story where the heroine is a pawn, but chooses to be much more than that.

As Sutherland's new king, Emory Davercher faces countless challenges, but nothing as excruciating and frustrating as his mysterious, eccentric betrothed. *** When King Emory of Sutherland receives news that his betrothed is on her way to Sutherland, he sends her away before even laying eyes on the woman he has no intention of marrying. Months later, after a narrow escape from an assassination, he flees to his childhood home where he discovers a massive problem. Due to an unfortunate mishap, his betrothed has not left Sutherland. She's been in his secret estate all along. Grand Princess Florence Paulet of Gavaria and her cousin, Lucy, thinks her arrival in Sutherland will be easy. She doesn't expect that her betrothed, King Emory of Sutherland, will send her straight to an empty estate on an island where they fend for themselves for months. And when he finally shows up, he has the audacity to fool her by introducing himself as someone else. After having killed dozens of chickens with her bare hands to stay alive, and with lying as her ultimate weapon for survival since she left Gavaria, what else can an annoyed, blithe, and audacious Florence do? Of course, she has to return the favor and make him twice the fool. He thinks he's fooling her, and she finds fun knowing it's the other way around. As the harsh winter traps them in the estate, lies, little accidents, and undeniable attraction draw them together stronger than the snowstorm. But not as much as Florence's true reasons for leaving Gavaria, which are also making their way to Sutherland.

The love interest is violent, and the stereotypical Made Man, meaning this book will have non-consensual relationships, where the male lead is quite literally the incarnation of the devil himself.

Adellia has grown up surrounded by rules and regulations. She's been prepped from birth to eventually reside in the throne that has been in her family for what feels like forever. Unfortunately, her destiny is quickly approaching. Her father is dead, and her mother has only a couple of months to live according to doctors. All eyes in the castle, and kingdom, turn to Adellia expecting her to step into her mother's shoes. However, both women aren't ready to give up their lives just yet. Wanting to learn more about her kingdom, and the people of it, before she is forced into an arranged marriage and the throne for the rest of her life, Adellia ventures out into the kingdom to do just that. While there, Adellia meets a young blacksmith by the name of Faron and gets sucked into a plot that goes against her, and her mother's wishes. Will she be able to venture into the unknown, and survive out of the watchful eye of the palace? This book has sexual reference and mentions of things that could possibly be triggering to some - e.g. young motherhood and loss of a parent. This work is usually split into two parts, but I have decided to take down the second part, and consider the first part, one book for now, so I can work on the second. When the second part/book has been finished, I'll decide whether I like it as one book or to reincorporate the rest of the book to make it one. Entered in the Wattys(2020)!
