The king and queen of Valoria were viewed as absolute and perfect. Every decision they made and speech they gave was carefully planned and perfected to ensure every party and political belief was accounted for and addressed. Of all Valorian rulers, they were deemed "The Golden Monarchs," as the nation flourished under the two. All seemed well and perfect from the outside looking in. Inside, however, was an amalgamate of despair, scandal and destruction. Despite how people saw the monarchs, it didn't matter to those residing within the palace. No one was prepared for the death of the Golden Monarchs, especially in such a brutal and malicious way. The nation fell into a state of panic and demolition as a new monarch rose to power: the young, sensible daughter of the Golden Monarchs. Immediately, she was loved by all, and deemed the "Golden Child" of the nation. They believed she would save them from the peril and despair. Meanwhile, a young servant boy had a dream of becoming a future knight. He had managed to speak to the princess numerous times before, and she had promised to make him a knight once she was in charge; she would forever change the law of the land by eliminating classes entirely. The death of the Golden Monarchs not only set the nation into despair, but also set a flame in his heart. As such, he grew determined to prove his worth to the grieving princess by avenging the murderer of the monarchs. However, secrets and scandals always bubble to the surface, and the discovery that the young servant has yet to face may change the destiny of everyone in Valoria forever.

Many forget that the goddess of love was born from the raging sea, but she would do anything to protect her daughter. Adora was Aphrodite's last daughter. Her mother kept her hidden. But, her mother isn't the only one who can keep a secret, especially in a world where your role in society is everything. For there was a prophecy long before she was born: 'Aphrodite's last child would be the one to take the throne, Her paternity unknown. They would carve her face and never forget, for she would be the most beautiful that they had met Cursed for the same fate as her mother Forced to leave her love for another The only way she shall break this curse is if she defeats the first' "Looks like the princess doesn't need saving after all." He says, quietly enough that no one else would hear, as he draws his hand away from my arm. I glare back at him. "Maybe she never did," I walk away, not sparing a single glance back, no matter how much my body was begging me to. I fuss over my hair, pouting as I run my fingers through it to put it back into place. *A warning note* I am not an expert on Greek Mythology, but it interests me greatly. Please excuse any inaccuracies in the book, but if there are any please do message or comment it and I will see if I can change it without making such a huge difference to the plot. Also, my main character is autistic and the experience will be different for everyone. I have tried my hardest to put down on paper how I feel and how I believe others see me. So, please be respectful about the decisions my characters make as I have chosen to give them many different types of neurodivergent brains. I have tried my best to represent these in the most accurate light whilst not romanticising them.
