There are very few things that could make the mechanic retreat from their workshop and go out to get some human contact but they quickly found themselves fascinated with a new piece and what else could get a reclusive person out of their hole than curiosity? I have no ownership of the One Piece Saga or any part of it. I merely use the characters as a way to entertain fellow fans of the anime and Manga.
