The Dreaming: Old Shalon (Book 4)
~ The Dreaming: Old Shalon's Story ~ It's the year 2067, and I am living in the shattered remains of Old Vancouver -- after the Cascadia quake, after WW3, after it all ended. I've been surviving all these years through the help of a young boy named Michael, a wildling, an orphan, one of the Forgotten. He's been with me since he was a little one, but now he's all grown up. This morning he told me he's going to leave Old Vancouver. He wants me to come with him... But that's ridiculous! How can I do that? I'm too old for those kinds of shenanigans.... ------ The Dreaming is a novel series spanning over 200 years and designed to be read in ANY order YOU choose. Start with any of these that interest you: - 2257: Imorah's Story --> Imorah has lived her entire life underground in The Shelter, with a religious cult called The Family. She's never seen the sky or breathed fresh air and The Family is the only thing she's ever known. One day Imorah's Grandmother disappears. They say it was a suicide, but Imorah knows better. The only clue Imorah has is the book that her Grandmother left behind -- a book that Imorah can't even read. - 2257: Liran's Story follows a young man who struggles to survive in the deserts of what is left of North America. One day he finds an old technological relic -- a robot head that still functions -- and Liran is thrust into a dangerous web of secrets and lies. - 2063: Old Shalon's Story --> this is Old Shalon's Story, please read story blurb above. COMING SOON. Starting sometime late in 2015, I will post the last installment of The Dreaming, where these five narratives will collide. Five lives bound together by an ancient book whose language has long died out, in a time and place where books are not only taboo, but could actually get you killed. The Dreaming: a place where time has no meaning, and everything is connected. All rights reserved. Copyright by Shalon Sims, 2019.Complete
Gamer of the Dead
Zombie Apocalypse meets the Gamer. to make it a bit different, I decided to create a new kind of zombie with its own rules. hopefully, the zombie will become more dangerous and open up new possibilities. So basically, this is a story of an underdog guy surviving the zombie apocalypse... and the unrequited love of the woman he loves. I am not a native speaker of the English language, it's actually my second. Grammar might be a problem. I accept every comment and review provided that they are constructive. I've been told that my genre is actually called LitRPG. Without further ado, ENJOY!Complete
That One Save I Forgot
After being convinced by a friend to try out the latest hit VRMMO, Fallen Arc 2: Online, Hakeem reluctantly logs in... only to discover his original RPG character is still active - but the server wipes from the first game should have erased all his progress. Instead, he finds himself holding onto a rare account, one that was untouched during the server reset. NPCs once thought to be mindless are beginning to show strange signs of sentience... but only for Hakeem. His character, originally coded for an RPG, behaves oddly in this new MMO world, pushing him into a style of play that doesn't quite fit the rules of the new game. As the world evolves in response to his actions, and the main storyline seems to follow wherever he goes, Hakeem starts questioning whether this world is really a game at all. But the more Hakeem learns about the true nature of his character and its connection to the game's fate, the deeper he falls into the VR rabbit hole. Forced to make decisions that will impact both the game and his real life, Hakeem begins to unravel an unnerving mystery: how did this cult-classic game, now turned live-service, come to feel so... human?

What if instead, the Multiverse only existed because of a catastrophic event that shattered, and split the Universe into separate pieces? What if it happened, and people you once knew were separated from you? In other words, you went to different pieces of the Multiverse. This is the reality of this story. An ancient darkness shattered the Universe, separating friends and families. People everywhere have fragmented and damaged memories of one another, that seem more like dreams than reality. Delve into the Multiverse, and bear witness to nine heroes of separate Universes being brought together to put an end to to the ancient darkness as it threatens time and space itself.Complete
Rimelion: The Exploiter
What is reality? I was John-now Charlie, a woman with a VR game tester's cunning and a professional whiskey enthusiast's attitude. But then AIs have risen, and my job evaporated faster than last night's drink. Just when I hit rock bottom, this punk kid-barely old enough to shave-dropped a bombshell: "Reality's just a simulation." Sure, buddy. I laughed it off. Until I woke up twenty years in the past. Now, thanks to a hacking mishap, I'm a regular girl in reality-with a debt and an attitude-navigating Rimelion, the VR game I once mastered, as Charlie, an elven priestess with more than a few tricks up her sleeve. Seriously though, fighting in high heels? Will I claw my way up the nobility ladder? Dominate the rankings? Outwit the government and their plans to exploit us all? Maybe. But something's off. The game feels too real. My memories don't line up, and everyone has their own version of what's true. Simulation? Reality? The lines are a blur-and I'm stuck in the middle. If I want to stop a dystopian future, I'll need allies, both in-game and out. Oh, and avoid ticking off the AIs hunting me for bending the rules. Survival's a long shot-but I was never one to play fair anyway. *** What to expect: - Light LitRPG story with an emphasis on strategy and world-building - First-person perspective (and occasional close third POVs) - A witty protagonist with a conversational sarcastic, humorous and often self-deprecating voice - A sci-fi world with mysteries sprinkled with fantasy elements - A rich game world system with kingdoms, rules, exploits, and challenges - Supporting characters with personal goals Schedule: * Posting on RoyalRoad and Scribblehub, here after bulk is done

I'm actually almost done right now. So it won't be long. LolComplete
Path To Radiance; First Ascent
How did I end up here? In this game where pain and death are real? Where the only thing worse than dying is being resurrected. Where I can't logout. Now, we are expected to climb this tower full of monsters that will "Lead to Radiance", or something. The only thing I do know is the Tower is the way out. What choice do I have other than to play the game? My only hope is I can make it to the top without dying too many times along the way. A LitRPG; This book is complete. Come check it out.
