Artemis lives with her dad, who is very strict and still grieving the loss of Artemis' mother. She has a special power that her dad knows nothing about, and in a very "Frozen" manner, tries to help her push it away, and it results in her needing to free herself. She doesn't hate her father, but she needs to be free to figure out who she is and find others like her. Others that she knows exist, but she has only heard about them from the town's resident "Crazy Old Fool", Mr. Patterson.  Of course, as with any story, there are twists, and he ends up having to save everyone from their possible deaths.
