The military scientists worked on a project for several years for a drug to strengthen the physical aspects of their soldiers. It was named Project Z/W. They made a prototype and used it on some soldiers.

After a couple of tests, they realized the drug wasn't what they were aiming for. A soldier who took the injection died he/she became a dead soldier with his/her conscience intact for a day. Then he truly died.

The scientists worked for a cure but it wasn't perfected yet. The first time they used this prototype, the soldiers became powerful and lost control. The virus was almost unstoppable but the USA and Russia joined hands and stopped the project and banned it. But the drug got circulated in the black market. The organs of the dead soldiers were also sold in the black market and people who made contact with it turned.

It took 5 years for the media to share it with the public. As everyone started to panic, the drug had more victims. It took another 2 years to weaken it but by then the virus had evolved. It used cold syndromes as it's cover for 6 months. Suddenly a week later, almost everyone became mindless savages who would feast on other humans until they too turned.
