With that intrusive thought, I force my hands to let go of his jacket, folding it together in front of me as I take two steps backward, eyes still on him. He frowned and his body go rigid like he is getting ready for a fight. Or maybe, like I do, he doesn't want the distance I created between us?

Wishful thinking, I know.

I wet my dry lips with my tongue and his eyes flare up, causing my heart to do the palpitation thing again. Hopefully, it's not a heart attack from that fright. I took another step backward and swallow the lump in my throat.

"C-C-Can I leave?" I ask in a small voice.

"No"

I clenched my lip in frustration. How could this happen? The elevator came to an abrupt halt, and I was stuck with a bunch of strangers. "Daddy, she has such pretty hair," a little voice piped up, and I pretended not to notice that it was directed at me. Of course, it was about me; there was no one else here but us, and this situation was becoming increasingly aggravating. "Yes, sweetheart, she does," her father responded in a deep, seductive tone that sent shivers down my spine. But I didn't care about his voice; I just wanted out of this predicament. "Say 'thank you,'" one of the twins chimed in, snapping me out of my thoughts. They all bore a striking resemblance to their handsome father. I blushed with embarrassment, nervously bit my lip, and discreetly clenched my fist, trying to keep my anger in check "Yeah, say thank you. Daddy says we should always be grateful when someone compliments us," the other identical twin chimed in supportively. I swallowed hard, rolled my eyes, forced a fake smile, and turned toward the little girl nestled in her dad's strong arms. "Thank you," I muttered and then looked at the twins with the same strained smile. "Get out," I said in a firm voice, but it shook a bit at the end. The muscles in his jaw tensed when I said that. Instead of getting out, he closed the door and started taking calculative predatory steps toward me. His eyes moved all over my length. My heart started to drum fast. It made me take a step back until my back was flat against the wall. "I said get out," I repeated, trying to sound firm when he was only a step away from me. He stood in front of me with his hands in his pants pocket. "Last time I checked, I still own this place," he said arrogantly in his deep voice, which made me want to sink into the wall. He stood in front of me. "But it's my workplace," I breathed out when he cut an inch of distance between us. His body was not touching me, but my body still twitched as if his calloused hands were moving all over me. I lowered my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself, but my heartbeat raised when I heard steps coming towards us. "Someone is coming. Go from here," I found myself pleading. The steps became louder as if the person were just a few steps away from opening the door. I don't want rumours to be spread here. An evil smile formed on the corner of his lips looking at the distress on my face. "I'm not afraid to be seen with my wife," he said in his deep, low voice, sending shivers down my spine. My eyes snapped towards him in anger. I know he was doing this on purpose because no one here knows we are married. Why is he breaking the deal?

Sequel to Mr Reigns The room echoed despite the fact that it was filled with furniture and papers spread everywhere. The doctor who was sitting in front of me, had a bright smile on his face. Julien, on the other side, looked terrified. He was looking at me with horror. I felt like I couldn't move. I was frozen into place. The smile on the doctor's face started to fade slowly before he cleared his throat and regained his professional posture. "I think I didn't hear right" Julien was the first one to talk after a few minutes of pure silence. "Judging by your reaction, I would say that you did hear right" The doctor said. His name was Matt and it turned out that Julien and him knew each other from before. "I can't be pregnant" I whispered more to myself than to someone else. "I can't be" I mumbled as my eyes slowly moved to my belly. "The amount of time you've probably fuck, would prove otherwise" Julien muttered. I didn't want to focus on him. "I would like to apologize for the unprofessionalism of my colleagues. They were supposed to see that in your blood test" Matt said formally. The frown on his face showed that he was truly disappointed. "You're eight weeks pregnant. We will have to do an ultrasound" He continued. I stood up, then turned away from them before walking out of that office. I needed to breathed. I could hear Julien following me. The jingling of the car keys in his pocket was what caught my attention as he followed my steps He didn't talk at all as I made my way out of the hospital. He knew very well that I was to be left with my thoughts at this moment. I opened the passenger door and I was going to make a move to get in when I suddenly heard a familiar voice calling me out.
