"The one born below the willow will always sway with the wind. Let it guide you."

Willow Gold, an orphaned sixteen-year-old girl, turns up in a hidden town which she considers her last safe haven. On her first day there, she meets a friend called Jett. Jett brings her into his home where she joins the Warren family. She is nervous about the dangers that she might bring if she continues to stay but can't bring herself to leave. She has finally found a home but her secrets and lies about her true identity and origin may cause her world to crumble.

As she meets friends, old and new, and starts to piece together the story of her past, she must make a crucial choice. Stay or leave. Live a life she has only ever seen in her dreams or run away to protect herself. Either way, a part of her will die.
