"A queen never takes off her crown and until a queen takes it off she must not cry and must not groan. She must be powerful and cruel because the world a queen lives in is cruel."
Chloe remebers her mother always saying that.
"I have taken your crown now that you are being buried in the ground. With this crown I take your burdens you bared. But this queen will do things differently for I will not wear it in the light but in the shadows. Father always said the dark is scarier than the light."

Thousands of centuries ago humans, vampires, and werewolves lived together in harmony, considering one equal to the other. Ruled by a council of three kings, with one from each fullblood race, peace endured for quite some time. All of it was destroyed when many years later the new vampire and werewolf kings both wanted to rule over the kingdom alone.
