Long before modern humanity had appeared, the Earth was home to our advanced ancestors- the Protohumans. In these times, the Sol System was a centrepiece to one of the Milky Way's most well respected empires; the Grand Martian Empire. As the founding civilization of the future Anunnaki Empire, the Ancient Martians were in stark contrast to the peaceful founding civilization of humanity.
As tensions rise between the two blossoming neighbouring planetary civilizations, the fates of the universe call for the inevitable demise of the Martian Empire, laying down the foundations for the events of Earth in the year of 2998.

The summer's already started off a little rocky, and it only gets more confusing from there when Max arrives on Venus to discover that their extended family has taken in two aliens the same age as themself and their cousin, and suddenly, Max doesn't fit in.
