A deep growl made me jump and look up. Everyone was frozen. Bogdan was staring at my bare shoulder and I had no doubt the growl had come from him. Dim lighting made his eyes seem much darker, almost black. You would think the growl would have frightened me but I was used to it and for some reason I really didn't care about what it meant.

All of a sudden people were jumping up and running away. Within seconds the place was empty except for the two of us. I stared wide eyed up at Bogdan who had moved so close to me we were almost touching fronts.

He was still eyeing my shoulder.

His eyes flashed to mine as he leaned down and licked the remaining cake from my skin. I gasped and he groaned, his arms coming around to hold me.

Life Lesson #1: If you are planning on going to a nightclub in the middle of sketchy, dark woods, don't. Life Lesson #2: If there are too many attractive, healthy people in said nightclub, be alarmed and rethink Life Lesson #1. Life Lesson #3: If you were foolish enough to ignore rules 1 and 2, I suggest you haul ass. Aeress is one of those special people who obviously need a couple more life lessons... ----------------------------------------------------------------- He chuckled. It was dry but it was an addictive sound. "No," he brought his nose against her collar, "not at all." His lips skimmed over her exposed skin. She sighed at his touch, riding the sweet, overwhelming waves that came with. "You've barely touched me," Aeress had her hands skimming up the back of his neck and in between his strands. "And I'm falling apart." His voice was a little hollow and this worried her. "The bond we have is responsible for that." She tugged at him until he looked up. For a moment she just basked in how handsome he was. "I don't think so," she leaned in for a kiss, "I think that you are just about the most fascinating man I have ever met. And we have only just met. I don't think a bond can simply erase the will of an independent woman like me." His eyes came to life with a blazing fire. He closed the distance between them and kissed sensation back into her body, setting off every nerve in her flesh. Everything came to a boiling point, sizzling with need. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ °°MATURE AND EXPLICIT CONTENT OF ALL KINDS, AND I MEAN ALL KINDS°° Highest Rank: #7 in Werewolf, #79 in Romance

The Betrayal

51 parts Complete Mature

"Light up my darkness," he murmured against her bare flesh. His fingers trailed up her arm, leaving a blazing fire beneath them. His lips pressed softly against her shoulder and her eyes fluttered closed, accepting his touch. "Let go and I'll take away all of the pain." She desperately wanted to free herself from the torture of the heat, of the shift, of the sadness, but she pushed his firm chest away from her. She yearned to finally fulfill her place among the divine. She desired to guide and protect the species. She wished to eliminate the Challengers. The longer she endured the pain, the more power she would attain to help her fulfill her responsibilities. To the men who watched her ascend, it looked as if she was interacting with thin air, but she knew he was there with her. She smiled softly at him, caressing his cheek. "My Darkness, let the pain fester within me. I crave it." * The Betrayal is a part of The Marking Trilogy and cannot be read as a stand-alone book.
