Zayn Malik is anxious, nervous, and angsty like any other young adult. However, he has far more on his plate than he can stomach. His father is out of a job and his mother, who works in a halal kitchen in the local elementary school cafeteria, is the sole breadwinner in the Malik household. With the family down on their luck, Zayn seeks employment alongside his childhood friend, Adrian, as a “street pharmacist.” Usually cautious and ignorant of the conflict associated with his line of work, Zayn realizes he has bitten of more than he can chew and the results are grave. Lost, hopeless and insecure, Zayn meets Laila, the bartender at the local pub, who just might save him from himself...
