Some incident has occurred...the world will never remain the same again. The badniks, the eggforces, the enemies that Sonic and his friends, practically everyone was fighting against from the very beginning, had suddenly took no orders from Eggman, probably because none of his machines even remembers him. With no one to command the machines, the machines all wander around and are forced to adapt to the environment and into the societies that feared and despised them. As this happens, some form of disease breaks out as these strange light cyan pollen like things starts to infest the whole Mobius, making any of the living organisms LITERALLY melt. The ones who are not affected by it are of course, the ones who can regenerate and the /machines/. A society where they are forced to work with the eggforces, or what they used to be to survive through an already melting world...like as if that's possible, right? Disclaimer: Since I am a new writer and new to the Sonic fandom still, I may write some of the characters inaccurately. I will try my best to put as much research into the characters as possible to aim for character accuracy. Due to that reason, do expect some slow updates as I want to give more care of this story as I do with the rest of mine. But it seems that there was another reason why Kate had to understand her powers. A reason why she forgot her past and why she has her powers. A reason why she was brought to Mario and Sonic's world. A reason that endangered her, and has now put Mario, Sonic, and their friends into danger as well. And it's not like Bowser, Eggman, or any of their schemes. This threat is difficult to identify, when the only clues lie in nightmares that Kate is having. This is the point of discovery in the tale of Mario, Sonic, and Kate. This is the dark twist in the Tale of the Tale of the Three Heroes.
