Flower Among Thorns

In early childhood, Christina only knew her mother's love. It wasn't perfect or even caring, but she believed it was how all parents treated their children. As she grew older though, she began to notice her situation was distinctively harsh. But Christina convinced herself to stay silent. She feared the pain and punishment that would come from betraying her mom. She worried that no one would believe her story, and people would only see her as weak because she couldn't handle a few bruises. However, in time, with the right people to encourage and teach her the power of her voice, Christina learns how to love herself and bloom into a beautiful flower among thorns.
