Pick Up

It's a smelly day on the rubbish tip for Adam Starlight.
He's making his way through a tough shift with his fellow inmates. The daily trips to the rubbish pile provide both a time of despair and tranquility for Adam. He has the chance, as he wades through a trash heap, to think about the mistakes and regrets of his life.
It's nearing the end of his shift when he discovers a message in a bottle.
The note reads, 'Call Peter'.
Who is Peter? Why is his number on a message-in-a-bottle? What will happen if Adam calls him?
