The world has been completely and irrevocably divided into two; Gifteds and Humans. Powerful and weak. Black and white. There isn't any gray in the life of Leah Thompson. At least not until a mission gone wrong and a double agent plunges Leah into an entirely different world, where all there is to see are gray areas. The beliefs she had about her friends, the Agency, The Republic of Unity, the rebels and even herself are shattered, drowning Leah as she struggles to complete a secret mission for a powerful man while fighting her own doubts. Everything is changing, yet one thing remains constant: when faced with a Shadow, don't look into their eyes.

He needs and foes back to his public make out session with the other boy leaving Cali with a look of approval and bewilderment. She clips her hair over her shoulder exposing the skin of her upper back due to the low dip on the back of her dress. In the split second I see the skin I think I see a black crow with a green eye, but that's crazy. Only crow members can get crow tattoos and only descendants of the original crow can have the green eye. By tattoo that's on my lower back has a red eye. The red eye means non blood related member. But I have a smaller one with a blue eye beside it. The blue eye means leader. When California's biggest secret is discovered by her new boyfriend will she be able to keep her past and family secret the secret she wants it to be? Will the secret tear the couple apart or push them closer together?
