Quinton is blind. He has been for most of his life, losing his eyesight when he was only three years old. He doesn't remember a time when he could see the world but he's okay with that. Trying to convince everyone, especially his overbearing mother, that he is just like anyone else has made him a prodigy of sorts. He can play any instrument you hand him, he his skilled on a wrestling mat, and one of the kindest and brightest people anyone could meet. After years of trying to convince his mother to let him attend public schools she finally caves. Quinton was shocked because he never thought the day would come but he wasn't going to tell her that.

To say public school was hard was an understatement. It wasn't the work, it was the environment. Teenagers were mean, teachers cut no one slack, and the new place would constantly make Quinton feel like he was on sensory overload. The only good thing about that horrible, horrible place was a set of siblings, especially the one that went by the name of Alexander.
