Luke cringes, not really sure how to explain himself as judgmental eyes that only he can see bore into the nape of his neck. "It's... Complicated," he says.
" 'Complicated' ?" laughs Neko. "How complicated can it be?"
"Dude, you've been more distracted than usual since the trip, and now you're calling a meeting. What's going on?" asks Fred. "If you're somehow secretly a superhero or something, can I just point out how the hero keeping secrets from his friends /always/ causes trouble? Then again, telling friends causes problems too..."
"Fred, we're gods. It's highly unlikely that he's a superhero," says Krill.
"Hey, you never know! Maybe he's a spy for the mortals!"
Krill sighs. "You've been reading those conspiracy magazines the seniors smuggled in last week, haven't you."
"Maybe," says Fred with a wink. "But seriously, Luke," he says, turning to the curly-headed god. "What's the matter?"
Luke hesitates, trying not to balk from the undivided, curious attention from four pairs of eyes looking at him. "It's... about the trip."
"Excellent! Some ancient eldritch abomination has been released and we're going to go kill it!" exclaims Neko gleefully. "This is going to be so exciting!"
"Umm... Close," admits Luke. "Anyone remember the Last War?"
"Yeah. It's why we went on that field trip," says Krill. "Stop stalling and cut to the chase."
Luke swallows a gulp. "The weapons we found? They weren't just artifacts-- they were vessels."
