Seventeen year old Sophie Ganesha was diagnosed with cancer at a very young age and has been dealing with it all her life. Her overprotective mother is driving her all around the country looking for hospitals that will help find a cure. On top of that she is making Sophie go to bed at 9:00 and is forcing her to die her hair back to its natural color (its blue.) So Sophie runs away and her friend Lily lets her stay at her apartment with her roommate Della. Lily says that she lives in Miracle Town. And with a name like Promise, Montana, its hard not to believe her. But then strange things start to happen. The sunset lasts for hours, a flock of pink flamingos end up in the pool of the apartment complex, Sophie's lost bird, Tweedy, shows up in a tree, a cute boy named, Niles, shows up whenever Della needs him, and Sophie's cancer starts to get better. The longer Sophie lives in Promise, the more she believes in miracles.
