Picture a voice echoing throughout your head as you try to escape from a figure you can't describe, it has the face of an empty soul motionless but sickening. Your Ears covered tightly with muffs and your hands squeezing it shut. Until abruptly, you stop running and gaze at a ghastly figure.
It all started recently, as our boarding school apprised us about a spreading virus about to impact the city, a virus which had a unique form.
Legend says...
if thou shall ever listen to it from a close range, your ear shall start bleeding.
If thou ever peer directly into its eyes, you shall turn blind.
If thou ever speak of its name, you shall turn into it.

Becoming Them: A Zombie Novel
What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. (BOOK ONE) Ever feel like someone is watching you. You would lay in bed, in the dark and you can feel their eyes on you. Suddenly you hear footsteps walking closer to your bed and suddenly you can feel their warm breath in the back of your neck. You would hide under the covers hoping that you just imagine it, but then a hand brush against the covers. A scream escape your lips and you would wake up from the nightmare. Ghost only exist in movies and your nightmares right? Well you're wrong they do exist. You just can't see them, but I can. It starts with a simple itch, nothing more. Maybe a few random spasms or the occasional shudder but you'll think nothing of it. Then you'll get blood shot eyes... Not enough sleep? We held our breath as we heard footsteps enter the dark room. My heart raced and I covered my mouth to keep from screaming as tears ran down my cheeks. Caleb sat next to me, with obvious fear in his eyes. I knew that the desk couldn't hide us for much longer and that's what scared me the most. The footsteps came closer and they grew louder by the second. I held my breath once I heard the man's footsteps stop. Caleb and I exchanged looks as we sat frozen under the desk. I looked up, trying to listen to the man's actions. Then a gloved hand grabbed the edge of the desk and the man's bloody mask appeared in front of me. This, of course, isn't their first time in detention but something seemed different. The teacher leaves to do something leaving the kids completely unsupervised which was kind of weird. He usually left some goody two shoes to watch them but this time there was no one except them. Creepy things begin to happen and they find themselves locked in the school. What was this? High School. A virtual hell to every pimple covered, greasy haired, knowledge loving kid who walks the halls of the institution.
