When Bella Swan was five years old, the tiny brunette girl was taken to an animal shelter outside Forks Washington in the hopes that a pet would break her out of her introverted shell.
Beau, a Nova Scotia Terrier puppy, was chosen from among the barren cage of his brothers and sisters. Ever since he was allocated into Bella's puny arms, the two became two halves of one soul and inseparable companions.
So when Bella chose to return to return to Forks, it went without saying that Beau was destined to join her. However, once arriving to their hometown, they seemed to fall under the radar of the seemingly withdrawn Edward Cullen and his family of outcasts.
Despite being the least antagonistic among his species, something about the Cullens rubbed Beau off the wrong way; specially with how they stared at him like he was a once in a blue moon event.
And he perhaps was - he just didn't know it yet.
