Six months after a strange wave of light washes over the sky Ash begins to notice things about himself that others do not know about. Those around him, however, are beginning to develop abilities that they then use to harm others. In hearing this Ash starts to fear that if his abilities develop more, that they might cause him to lash out at those around him as well. Also, a group of people called The Morning Star takes his younger brother Colin by force when they refuse to "willingly" give him up. Ash makes new acquaintances while on the search for his brother whether he can trust them or not he has to figure out for himself. Will he survive? If so, how many enemy corpses and friendly casualties will be left behind? Most important of all, though, what will he unlock about himself and those around him?All Rights Reserved

The world is changing, two years ago strange weather, various anomalies and strange creatures started appearing from nowhere all over the world. Some creatures were completely alien and others were familiar looking as if they'd stepped from myth and legend. What many of these creatures had in common however was their aggressive nature and predatory instinct. Things that go bump in the night, that shifting shadow in the dark alley way, the cracking branch right behind you. Nightmarish creatures now stalk the land. Monsters. That isn't the only change in a new world however, humans have also changed. Some unknown phenomenon has granted humanity access to incredible power. The very elements themselves can now be wielded by those willing to risk the dangers. Earth, wind, fire, water, suddenly magic has become possible in a modern world and there are many who are eager to develop and embrace their newfound power and help protect their fellow man from monsters. There are also many who are willing to make a profit from newfound opportunities this changing world provides. Unfortunately for our MC Jack, embracing newfound power and going out to valiantly battle monsters isn't quite as simple as most other people have it. He possesses the rare and not so sought after lightning element, considered the weakest element for certain reasons, pitied and looked down upon Jack is determined to become a successful monster hunter in a more and more dangerous world. A slow burn story with world building, dungeon delving, character progression, Litrpg elements and more. WARNING - The MC is not a Mary Sue, he is not super competent, or super powerful or super intelligent nor a paragon of virtue, just a normal guy in a not so normal situation and him growing to deal with it in his own way.

As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages.
