Madalyn Kelly is a college student, an aspiring genealogist at that. She looks to familial connections to discover the truth about people's past. Even her recent past begins to haunt her in the form of a boy named Taylor Wilkinson. Making it his duty to protect her from her recent past Nick Markov, her best friend from childhood, is the only person she considers her true family. However, upon getting an internship that gives her access to family records she discovers that there is more to Nick than what she thought.
