Gwenna is haunted by the night her parents were murdered by a blood thirsty vampyre right in front of her as a child. Gwenna almost didn't make it herself, but a mysterious woman and child was able to stop the vampyre from killing her, but not without leaving a deep scar that gave her an uncanny ability to sense any vampyres close by.  With her her abilities and determination for revenge for her parents' death, Gwenna has become one of the best vampyre hunters the world has ever seen.

Lark, a vampyre/human hybrid wants nothing more than to bring peace between vampyres and humans. Something Lark's father, Adrian, dreamed of as well, before he killed Gwenna's father. Gwenna's hunter abilities were becoming quite problematic to Adrian and his coven of vampyres. To try and stop Gwenna in her tracts, Adrian instructs Lark to infiltrate the hunters headquarters so that Adrian can finish what he should have done many years ago.
