Nalaih is a princess of a kingdom that is on the verge of destruction. A long list of traditions that the nobles hold to, yet their people hate, spending money on party wine and dress and with a rebellion, against nobles and the royal family, that itself is corrupted. How will the next court, the group of teenagers meant to take over the kingdom after the court death deal with it. Two words, they aren't. At least that's what the court thinks when they send them away. They though have no clue that three of the next court are actively working against them. Save their bastardized children and protecting the abused lovers of their parents. One of those three being the leader of the group that just want the nobles to care and the kingdom to run. A child who had the chance to be born in love and not be a bastard. Above all though the shelter princess just wants to protect her friend but can she do that with a enemy under her nose, maybe with the help of a rebels son? ~~~~ This will include characters that are a part of lgbt+ community the main character is not or not stated as such.

ONC Shortlister 2023! There are few rules in the Kingdom of Kadotaru, and punishment is not kind, even for the young prince who wishes he was anybody else. Tied to the crown, to his family, to his kingdom, there isn't much he can do. He isn't born to bear the crown, to rule over all the creatures of Kadotaru, but it still haunts him. He never thought to break a rule, there was too much fear deep in his heart. He never thought to break any rules, until she was able to see him. Humans. Humans don't have true sight. They aren't seers, or creatures of Kadotaru. So why can she see him? Why does she reach out to help him? And why did he have to break Kadotaru's most sacred rule? ------------------------------------------------------- This novella will include extreme violence.
