¨Someone once told me that smiling through the pain would make it fade. But would that also include the suffering and pain that people go thru everyday or is it just something that's made up in hopes of making everything seem fine that it happened, when its not. ¨ tearstained girl said in a corner of her destroyed bedroom curled up into a ball in hopes of escaping reality like any teen in distress.

The sun was high in the sky, bright and warm. The sunlight poured in through the window making your skin warm to the touch. You'd been staying at Derek's place as your house didn't feel like home anymore. You and your dad had been fighting a lot lately, ever since he found out about the horrors that Beacon Hills held. You threw your head back and closed your eyes. Just try not to think about it, you thought to yourself, you'll get stressed. 18+ content.

He was gone. And all my memories of his smile, his hair, his body scent, his hands, the scars on his body, his two vampire-like teeth, his expressions, his cheesy lines, his eyes. His eyelashes, eyebrows, and the way he used to light up after seeing me rushed in. Of how his eyes didn't shine when we met for the last time. How I missed the special way we used to say goodbye. He loved me. He always had. He put in all his efforts just to see me. He did it all. But he didn't love me, not anymore.

My mother gasped and fell back onto her hands. Terrified, she stood and with no hesitation, made a dash for the door, leaving her baby girl in the dark corner. Her panicked attempt to leave the room came to a complete stop as she came to face the full length mirror. She stared back in horror, only it wasn't her looking back at her reflection. It was me -Kali emerges from her past that has left every piece of her in ruins. Her life was left shattered into a million pieces. With intentions of starting a new life, she feels like her past will never let her go. When starting over doesn't promise a new start, Kali's life is thrusted in and out of place.
