Sal screamed so loudly that it hurt Travis's ears and echoed in his head for several minutes after it had finished. The sound was unlike anything he'd ever heard on TV, unlike anything he'd ever made when his father beat him. It was visceral, primal. Filled with the most basic of instinct from any living thing: fear. A kind of it that was so deep, it lacerated Sal's vocal cords as it tore through his stomach and out of his throat, loud enough to reach heaven, desperate enough to be a prayer. It was the sound of death. ========== Sal can't find his anxiety medication on the fourth of July. He subsequently proceeds to have one of the worst breakdowns he's ever had in Nockfell, directly in front of Travis Phelps. (25,288 words) CONTENT WARNINGS: This fic contains graphic depictions of PTSD flashbacks, panic attacks, suicidality, and descriptions of child abuse, harm and trauma. (Cover art is my own)

It wasn't all good, though. The small town was small and scary- the normal "ghost town". Not many people lived in Nockfell, but for good reason. The town was a total freak show, not that Sal could talk. It was full of decay and death, and had an excruciatingly dark past. Larry himself believed that something about the town was off, though he kept a skeptical mindset. When the group of Ashley, Todd, Sal, and Larry all start sticking their noses in places they ought not be, what will happen? Will Larry find his father, or something much, much worse? in the town of nockfell, the protagonist and antagonist start to have problems in their personal life, which starts to destroy their mental health. as it gets worse and worse for the antagonist, his worst enemy becomes his only hope at feeling normal again. as they start to learn more about eachother, the more they fall in love. they write in their diaries about what happens between them, which bounds their souls together forever.
