𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞, 𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝, "Call me Castor." I blinked. Castor. The name felt foreign on my tongue, like something I wasn't supposed to know. I hesitated before murmuring, "Castor..." His fingers, which had been pressing a fresh cloth against my wounds, stilled. Something shifted in the air between us. "...Say it again," he murmured, his voice quieter this time. I frowned, confused. "Castor." It wasn't the name itself, but the way I said it-soft, almost hesitant. Like I was trying to figure out who he was beyond the version I had built in my mind. Psyche Calix is a young woman who lost everything in the span of a decade-her home, her family, her sense of belonging-all shattered by the hidden truths and treacherous magic of the Magnificent North and the Meridian Empire. Now, something has called her back to the place where it all began... and where everything was taken from her.
