Raven, a young orphan bird in the land of Avaria is held with more fear and respect than she wishes she ever had. The winged humans are at war with the humans to the east, most believe that Raven could save them from the raging war. When humans come for the fourteen year old orphan, Raven flees her forest home of Norak in central Avaria to the small town of Calveras in the southern desert. From there she meets allies, and enemies alike.
