The minds of toddlers are always so intriguing to think about. They are too young to know what is wrong with the world, so their imagination carries no limits. They could pretend the floor is lava without realizing the scientific concepts about lava, or that they were in a world where stuffed animals can talk without knowing that is not physically possible.
That's one uncomfortable thing about growing up; soon you'll learn all the facts, and it will be harder to enter that realm of imagination on a rainy Sunday stuck indoors with nothing to do.
There are other uncomfortable things about growing up. Your friends grow up as well. It isn't as easy to call them up and ask if they want to come over to your house or go to the park with you. As a teenager, some of them drift away as if a piece of small wood slipping from your grasp onto the rocky journey of the endless ocean.
My companion, Jax, has yet to grow up. He is 3 now. He is getting ready to go to preschool. And as an imaginary friend, I have never had to deal with the issues of growing up. Jax will never forget me.
