People tried to escape it, the end of the world. 

Some hid themselves inside submaries under the ocean, trying to pretend as if the world was just the same under the surface. 

Others burrowed under the ground like rabbits escaping a deadly hawk. 

But some didn't have much of a choice. Some were forced to survive, forced to ensure the continuation of the human race.

They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows.
