In a universe where people are split between the vuld, those born without abilities, and the korrupt, those who develop powerful abilities, the entire population is on the brink of a civil war.

Esmeralda Esperanza is an 18 year old who is thrust into the middle of the oncoming war when her abilities kill someone in self defense. Her circumstances lead to her having to choose between eternal imprisonment or joining the troops of the korrupt. Esme decides that she will have to stop the war before it's begun, however she cannot do it on her own.
