That is why what I am about to tell you is not the happiest of stories. There will be no happy ending. For them anyways. I may find a little joy in my future, I doubt it, but I can hope I suppose. My biological parents seem like the type to want me to continue to hope. But my father does not like hope, he says it is not realistic. I agree.

Perhaps I am giving up too fast though. Perhaps I am only manifesting the worst to come. But in the overall picture, there is no real hope or chances of me passing the entrance exams into U.A. the way I am. My father does not even have to tell me that, I already know I am pathetic.

In this world, unexpected things happen. Things that break people into doing things they never thought they would ever do. I sometimes wish I could tell my younger self that I was rescued and had become a great hero that my biological family would be proud of. That everything will be fine and we will reunite happily. But that is not true, it never will be true.

I became the very thing my original family loathes. I broke every silent promise I made to my biological parents, to my birth family, and to my original self. I failed at reaching those high set expectations my birth family assigned to me. I have simply given up on the idea of hope. I am worthless, a waste of space and matter, I only exist because my adoptive father lets me. That is what my father reminds me of every day. It is true though.

The hero's boy became the villain's kid. We are what our parents raise us to be after all, at least partially anyway.

Perhaps hope is not completely gone.
