The goal in life is to become a perfect soul. The Creator and Destroyer, God and the Devil if you will, settled on tests of the 7 deadly sins to see who was pure and who was evil. Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Sloth, Envy, Pride, Wrath. 7 lifetimes for every sin. 49 lives in total max to overcome every sin. That's something Irene wishes they told her before they yanked the proverbial rug out from under her. In a whirlwind of chaos and death, her and 6 other strangers are thrust together and told they have 2 weeks to become buddies before they go save the Earth from raving, overly powerful nut-jobs. If only this was something Irene read in one of her books.
