The 53rd class of Hopes Peak Academy find themselves is quite the situation, when the 77th class blows up part of the building. The world's biggest, most awful, most tragic event in human history started that day, due to that specific class. Well, that's what everyone thought at first. That was until Kokichi Ouma, the Ultimate Supreme Leader, reveals himself as a traitor, having lied about all his intentions. He had never cared about the others, but was merely acting. *Lying*. He was an Ultimate Despair, second to that of Junko Enoshima. But is that really the truth of the matter? A/N Hey, so I came up with this idea a long time ago, and I just decided to write it because I don't have much else to do. It's just a 'what if' scenario if Kokichi had been a Remnant of Despair, really. There might be some shippy stuff, I don't really know. If that's what people want, I wouldn't be against it or anything. I'm just, really bad at romance lmao. And also this'll be prey family friendly, with just some swearing. Because tbh I really, REALLY hate fan service based things? Yeah, that's not the correct term, but I'm pretty sure you can realize what I'm talking about. It's been about a year since the thirteen of them woke from the living hell that was the Killing Game. Ever since, they've been living together in a strange new world where their old memories are next to meaningless. Kokichi still feels the effects of the game a year later; although, he only has himself to blame for not being able to get past his guilt. Still, he hopes to be able to, one day, feel like he has earned his place among the others and maybe even feel like he can belong. You want to help him as much as you can so he knows he's loved too, and so he can feel true happiness from loving himself back as well. What starts out platonic becomes a romantic story that runs into the threads of deep despair with only a shred of hope to hang onto. What happens when things become just a little more complicated than a high school romance was meant to be? Will you succeed at winning his heart that you didn't know you were chasing after? Will you and Chiaki be able to save your friends? Will Nagito be able to save you? . . . This book takes place during the Despair Arc and later books continue in chronological order of the series installments.
