What happens if you wake up and the world you know is gone? The country you called home is a shadow of its former self, divided and at war. Worst still, the only person you love is missing, lost in this hostile world. 
This is a bleak portrait of a dis-United Kingdom where North is fighting South, and the rest of the world has been turned upside down. 
Inspired by a dream (nightmare?) my father had when I was young, I started writing this story years ago and discovered it again recently, determined to finish it. 
I don't really do science fiction, so this is my first foray into the genre -- though technically speaking this is more alternative history than sci-fi. Let me know what you think!All Rights Reserved

This book is is written in the far future were war is raging throughout the world permanently halting all innovations. Humanity wanting to finally bring it all to an end only finds one way to solve it. End humanity as we know it. Governments across the globe found that humanity wasn't what it was before and had become dark and terrible to live in, so to fix that they made a small utopia pulling in families, scientists, and important government officials to create the perfect pair of humans. Those two humans would be trained to kill what humanity has become and start it all over, so the world would be a better place. But once they make the female, they find that she is not like her partner. She has a different goal in mind than restarting humanity. This is my first book, so it may have a few mess ups but I hope you enjoy, I have worked hard to at least get this out. I have a secret that I don't share with most. I've been swept up into something bigger than anything I could ever imagine, and now I'm involved with more than just this one world. Romance isn't all about walking away in the sweet sunset; it's messy, complex, and downright terrifying at times. My abilities never made any of this easier.

Throughout the book, the main character tries to discover what it means to be alive as a 'lower being' in a new world. Originally, she believes herself to be human until an accident occurs, and she finds herself to be woken up in the middle of what she thought to be some sort of cosplay festival. Oddly enough, these strange creatures weren't human, which she quickly realized after being attacked and nearly killed. Now she's got to learn how to survive in this new, scary environment where everyone's out for her demise. I've learned a lot of the parts in this book relate to real-life events, places in the present, and the past. You'll see a lot of connections between actual human historical events and the goings on in this book. The main character is, above all, head strong and bold. She's unafraid of the social normal and any punishments that come when defying them. ----- My original caption for the story: I had a dream, and it was kinda awesome and slightly romantic. I'll try my best to write down what I remember.
