I Wish the Crossroads Were Different

Savannah Leitner started high school thinking she would fly by with only her impressive academics to show. She thought she would spend her four years in science, math and even history. She promised to leave the days behind her where she could not stop competing with everyone in the world around her. The first day of soccer tryouts were the beginning of her falling back into her old arrogant ways that she wanted so badly to leave behind.

Savannah then found herself in her last months of high school having impressive grades, the star spot on the varsity soccer team, and a full ride to Stanford. In her eyes, her arrogance was again understandable. But, in another's eyes, it was going to be her downfall.

It would be too late for Savannah to change, and the drastic changes that were bound to follow in the wake of that will be ones no eighteen year old girl with Savannah's bright future should have to experience. But, sometimes the greatest futures come from the biggest falls. Who said making the right choice was easy?
