Ellen took in Brooklyn and raised her as her own daughter and even went far enough to adopt her.     Years later, it was revealed that Nicolas Brooklyn's father was presumably killed by the same demon he tried to hunt when she was only 10 years old. Ellen had hoped that the demon would be killed for tearing apart Brooklyn's life.    But in Brooklyn's eyes, Ellen and William were her family, her mom and dad.
