During a Frost Giant altercation, Loki's arm was grabbed and it turned blue. For weeks he tried to find an answer that didn't involve being a Jotun himself, but eventually he gave up and picked up the Casket of Ancient Winters. He found out about his heritage and went to leave, only to be stopped by someone unexpected. From there, he wound up in the Void. That was where Thanos found him. After a year in complete silence, torture, and darkness, he fell again into a place he never wished to go.
