Malia, a teenager, just lost her mother and cannot live with her father, so her and her grandparents pack up and move to a small city in Wyoming. She gets the chance to start over and be the person she wants to be, but she realizes that it is hard to overcome your past and she finds her past catching up to her. She learns to overcome many obstacles that she faces in the real world and mentally. with the help of her new friends, doctors, and grandparents she finds ways to overcome her past and gets what she wanted to do the second she found out they were moving, she gets a second chance at life.

Grace moves with her dad and brother to Pennsylvania, Narberth after her mothers death. Grace is devastated over her mothers death however needs a fresh start at a new school as was bullied at her school for a nerdy side. She lives with her dad who is a architect and her two year older brother who is attending collage at the end of summer break. Grace has been questioning people and their choices her whole life as people are not what they seem. They first of all seem nice and friendly even though people say they are not those things but then they turn out to be the opposite of what you see. Once Grace begins to people do they change for the better or are they the same old person they were. Do people really change?
