Maddison Hunt has spent the last few months of her pregnancy completely alone after unexpectedly losing her husband. When she goes into preterm labor, she finds love, comfort and support in the biggest ways in the most surprising person: her labor and delivery nurse.

While the job often goes underappreciated, labor and delivery nurses are usually the unsung heroes who help those brave women who take on childbirth and motherhood. Labor and delivery nurses are the people who keep us going when we feel like giving up when, we doubt that our bodies can survive this exciting, scary, and incredibly painful (but totally worth it) experience.
