Valarie: sketchy background but has a new boyfriend who she met at the dollar store.

Xander: was the best friend to Valerie's boyfriend, he's also the one who works at the cash register at the dollar store. And, like Valerie, has a sketchy life.

I wanted so bad to tell her all the shit with my family but decided against it. I glanced at Dan who kept away all eye contact, staring down at the carpet beneath our feet.

"Yeah, don't mind me. I'll deposit them up your ass now, after I take out the stick up there." Her smile dropped, replacing with a scowl. Last time we talked at the bar, she was shy and timid. Now she's just full on bitch, like, hot damn.
