Carl es un ingeniero aeroespacial que trabaja como mecánico para una empresa de turismo espacial en el año 2101. Él tiene dos grandes ambiciones para su vida, una es explorar el espacio desconocido y la otra revolucionar la humanidad tal como lo hicieron los pioneros en el pasado. La empresa para la que Carl trabaja inauguró una nueva flota de naves por lo cual deciden hacer un evento que consiste en viajar a Plutón, ellos son los primeros turistas en ir allá. Carl no se conforma con esto y quiere saber qué hay más allá de Plutón.
