This story was heavily inspired by wings of fire. I absolutely loves these books when I was a kid, so I decided to write a story inspired by it, since I'm re-reading them for the first time in a long time. I hope you enjoy reading this, just as much as i enjoyed writing this (as of writing this, it's still ongoing.) The story follows a young dragonet named Hide. As he runs away from his mother, queen of the moon kingdom, He faces the scorching deserts, and the kingdom of the sand. Depending on how this story goes, I'll make another installment, but this is it for right now. Enjoy!

A long time ago before humans roamed the earth there lived dragons and their hatchlings and drakes. They feasted on living animals of the water and land and proud to be able to touch the sky. All of them were different shades of colors and some even bore two or three different colors and all of them sparkled in the sun. One year there was a dark hatchling that when he became a drake and wondered into the sun did not shine. He was the only dragon born that could not shine and was named Dark One by the elders. Years down the road he took his name and used it against all the other dragons and chose to follow an evil path of hatred. One year he left his weir and ventured to other lands to find a home for him. He would find young female dragons and use them just to leave them before she laid her clutch of eggs.
