Taking place a couple of days after Bloodwitch, this is my book-style prediction of what will happen in book 4 of the Witchlands series by Susan Dennard (world and characters all belong to her, along with my heart and eternal devotion.)
Aeduan is free. No Monastery or life debts to keep him tied down. But he still has one thing left to complete- not a job, but an obligation. He's tracking something down- not an item, but a person. And if he dooms the Raiders in the meantime, so be it. He made his choice.
Iseult is frustrated. Stuck within the palace of Emperor Henrik, her thread sister betrothed to him, she must navigate the complicated social hierarchy of the court while facing racism because of her No'amatsi heritage. There's only one person who can help her now- but he's on the other side of the Witchlands, with no way of finding her.
Vivia is exhausted. Attempting to lead a small group of refugees beneath the catacombs beneath Nubreva, the danger is at every turn and nothing can change the fact that she is hopelessly lost. Her only points of clarity are the Foxfire she hopes the origin well is using to led her to the surface- and Vaness, the powerful young Ironwitch who rules the Empire of Marstok and is her only hope for saving the Witchlands from an all-out war.
Safi is determined. She will not marry the wrinkly old toad that is the Emperor of Cartorra. She has her thread sister back, her Hell Bards by her side, and is ready to leave this rutting country altogether- and hopefully, find out what really happened to the Prince of Nubreva. She only has to wait until the wedding. Then, she can make her great escape. She just has to make sure they all survive that long.

In an empire waging an eternal war against the darkness just to exist, our princess finds herself picking up new skills, new friends, new enemies, and a lot more importance in the palace than before all while trying to just make herself unkillable so she can live silently reading books. Will she be able to unravel all the mysteries of the world that she wants to, or will all of the tasks the emperor asks of her and the troubles she creates for herself keep her from existing in peace? Will she be able to escape the palace before the "silver lady" of that book appears, or is her death inevitable? Well...Mephie doesn't really care, to be honest. She just wants everyone to stop bugging her so she can finally finish the latest book she's been reading...especially those annoying knights...and, well, everyone else too.

And as the stakes rise, Auren will have to face her family's deadly past, master the terrifying power she was bound with, and figure out if loyalty and love are worth the risk when everything could be ripped away in a heartbeat. ------------ if you haven't already read the Fourth Wing series... like, what are you even doing with your life?? 😂 go give rebecca yarros all the love because it's honestly one of the best series i've ever read. this fic is obviously inspired by her world, but for me it's turned into a story about love, friendship, found family, and especially the bond between siblings. a lot of it follows the storyline from fourth wing / iron flame / onyx storm, but i've changed up some of the characters, a few signets, and since onyx storm just came out-anything beyond that is just my own theories and imagination making it my own thing. and hey, if it's not your vibe... totally fine. don't read it, I'm sure there are sooo many other good ones out there! 🖤 and nooo i'm not telling you who Auren's romance arc is-you'll just have to keep guessing 👀Complete
The Licensed Mage
Dive into a world full of magic and modernization. It's 2218 and magic has been a part of the world since the 5th century. With the rise of government and regulation, Magic Laws have been placed in effect to appease the people of the world. Every mage must have a license to use their magic outside of their homes but there are those who follow the dangerous path instead. Follow our resident mage (a magical person) Claire Dunsworth who becomes a NYC Mage Detective and her new partner the rugged Detective Raven Black as they investigate crimes of a magical nature. Claire is a mage with exceptional magical talent if not too exceptional for the higher ups within the Guild that monitors all mages of the world. She is an orphan and grew up in a Home for Magical Children on Mage Island, floating in the middle of the Pacific. Under constant watch and scrutiny from the Guild, Claire now finds herself working side by side with a Black, the very family that was breed to become mage assassins, killing thousands of her people. The fact that the Black is also a handsome man does not help Claire's case at all. Raven has nothing to do with his family and yet is hostile to Claire upon finding out she's a mage. He worked as a detective to make sure everyone had equal justice but when he got his new partner Claire his world is thrown upside down. Not only is she a mage whom he silently despises but she's also the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on. As they work together and find a rocky truce between themselves they travel the city solving crimes with a magical association. Raven accepts Claire without cause while Claire lays her life down for the man who stole her heart. As they fall for one another a dark figure lerks in the shadows, plotting something sinister for our mage Claire. Could this dark figure perhaps have something to do with Claire's unclear past? Can Raven, a Black, somehow save this woman before she's taken from him forever?Complete
A Court of Scars and Shadows
Follows story line of the ACOTAR series.... picks off right after ACOSF, so of course spoilers are meant to be said in this story. For people who haven't read ACOTAR, read at your own risk, but fair warning you might be just a tad bit confused. ALSO... I will not be trashing any character, expect for assholes like Beron and his sons (expect for Eris). STORY DESCRIPTION: Gwyneth Berdara has spent her last year still not being able to leave that gods-damned library. She wants to leave, but every time she is about to reach the outside world, she freezes and goes back to Sangravah. She tells herself that she is safe, she is in Velaris, but nothing works. She feels as if she's still stuck in the same place from when she entered the library two years ago. One incident makes her leave the Night Court and into another court. How will she react? Azriel was there in Sangravah, but he had arrived too late. Ever since the incident, Azriel has been slipping farther and farther away from his family. He doesn't know why the incident had been eating away at him, it wasn't his first time failing at his job. Azriel finds shocking news that he must keep from Gwyn. The plot line derives somewhat from the initial description. P.S. : I do not own this art, I just made it as my cover!
