Special Agent Rayne Matthews was never the same after The Riddler had kidnapped her. She has been plagued with nightmares ever sence. She thought she could haddle them but now they are getting worse. She hardly sleeps or eats anymore. Her godfather James Gordon begins to worry about her. Assuring him that she is fine she helps him on a case that brings her face to face with The master of fear. and so.his obsession with the broken agent begins. Johnathan Crane will stop at nothing to get her. Even if that means bringing her face to face with the very thing that has tormented her for a year. Can Rayne keep her sanity through it or will she develope a dangerous need to be around him at all times.
