Axel has always been the queen of avoiding feelings. Mason Bell changes that as he smashes through in a rollercoaster that Axel has no intention of riding. Axel learns that patience is a virtue and that good things happen to people that wait but the question is, how long can you really wait for? "Omg we are so high up in the sky right now," Mason grabbed my legs and I could see the fear but excitement dancing in his eyes. We were at the top of the ferris wheel and it was like a scene out of a movie. "I can't believe you're so scared right now," I giggled and his eyes narrowed. "Have you seen where we are right now?" His eyes moved around the carriage but stopped when he saw how beautiful the water looked against the city lights. I watched the boy I spent months avoiding in awe. He was so happy, and for the first time in the 3 years that I had known him I realised something very important. I loved this boy with all my heart and seeing him this happy, made me happy. He turned to me and something in his face softened, he leaned in and gave me a soft kiss and my body melted. "Pinky promise me you wont ever hurt me," I whispered against his lips. He lifted his finger and wrapped it around mine, "I pinky promise, Angel." © 2019, Vanessa Lafond
