Carl is a confessed loser; there's no doubt in his mind. Samantha is the top of the popularity scale; it's what everyone has told her, her entire life. School is what they have in common and not much more. As their worlds are far apart, they find themselves brought together during an art project that will transform the way they see and act with those different worlds. Each has skills the other admire, finding a common bond; they learn that life is not about popularity, but about the truth in oneself and each other.
