I was shaking with not just anger but with a strange and yet familiar power surging through me.

My attacker stumbled back in surprise. His eyes were wide and was staring at my clenched fists.

I looked down to find them smoking. I had no control over my body anymore.

And then I bursted in flames.

Literally.

I was covered in fire lapping around me. But I wasn't burning. In fact I didn't even feel the heat.
I caught a slow movement from the corner of my eye, in an otherwise still room.
 
I looked around me as a girl started to go down on her knees and crossed her arms over her chest to make an X.

Slowly the others started to follow her lead until the whole arena was bowing to me. Even the buff I was fighting with.

Then all of them propped one knee up and extended one arm towards me and shouted in sync.

One had the mutant name Iceman or Bobby, while the other was Pyro, or John as he had been called since birth. They quickly gave her the nickname Element, after realizing that she had many useful abilities and they were all related to the elements. They also found out very quickly enough to their pleasure, after accidents around the school, that by combining their gifts of their specific elements to hers, that they could create something even more powerful then what they already had on their own. Sierra was not one to scare easily, especially not when it came to being snuck up on, but there is one thing that has always scared her, and that always will scare her. Losing the acceptance of her family. Human or Mutant Normal or Different The only thing Sierra ever wanted, was a family.
