"You're pathetic," Seren spat, "how could you—how dare you treat me like that? I loved you—I fucking loved you!"

Zavien just gazed at her. He watched in agony as she fell to pieces in front of his face.

He remained silent, he couldn't speak or else she would be shot down on the spot, then God knows what would happen next. His duty was to protect her, to keep her from awakening her dormant hybrid abilities. Zade had no idea what she was capable of, Zavien wanted to make sure no one ever knew.

He had seen them on several occasions behind closed doors and between the sheets, or more so, on top of them.

She was dangerous.

Just like her father said.

"Don't just stand there!" She yelled at him. "Say something! Anything!"

He clenched his jaw.

"Don't get yourself hurt, Princess," he said and turned his back on her, "this is goodbye."

He could hear her heart shattering inside of her chest. She collapsed to the floor in a fit of sobs and he left.

"Have faith in me, Seren...please."

《 Highest Ranking: #5 in Vampire 》 "Is that Marcus? Marcus as in, from our High School Marcus!" Casey squeaked. I spun around, not quite believing her, but there he was. He strode through the school like he owned it and my god, he could've. He'd changed over the four years he'd been gone. It was like god himself had carved him from a statue. His cheekbones could cut a finger and a jaw that could slice a hand. He was taller, more muscular. He looked nothing like the boy that went away. He wore a blacket jacket and ripped jeans, his grey eyes studied the school as every female studied him. Suddenly, they slipped past every other person's eyes and landed on mine. No surprise etched his face, it was like he didn't recognise me. Until I saw the corner of his mouth lift up. ~~ Best friends, Diana and Marcus planned to do everything together. They would go to college and live in the same dorm room, they would always be best friends. But, Marcus went away. Without expecting him to return, Diana uses her heartbreak to change her life. She becomes popular in college.. Then one day, he shows up. But he's changed, he's darker, more silent and definitely a lot more hotter. He'd grown taller, his face sharper and he drew eyes from every woman on campus, even the guys. He spoke to no one and didn't even acknowledge her until she spoke to him. But something was very off. Very off, indeed. Cover Design: @newsies- Copyright @tavanalee No Rights Reserved 2018

"I shall never tell," the Queen replied. Without another word the man thrust the dagger into her and Adrastea let out an involuntary scream, quickly covering her mouth. But it was too late. The Human snapped his head around and looked at the door. His face was square and dirty, with a scruffy blond beard and a long scar across his forehead, nose, and cheek. Adrastea stared with wide eyes at the horrid thing, still covering her mouth. The man leaped for the door and the Princess jumped back as it swung open, running as fast as her legs would carry her back down the hall. "GUARDS!" she screamed hoarsely, dashing up the stairs. She could hear the man's footsteps right behind her but did not dare look back. "GUARDS!" Adrastea yelled again. Reaching the top of the stairs the young Princess halted, looking down the empty hall. The guards were gone.
